As our eyes, ears and minds are bombarded by headline breaking news, by heart breaking stories of friends and family who are having hard times, and by our own hearts that are broken by real circumstances we are going through, I am here to give you some GOOD NEWS. There are better Words we can listen to and speak over ourselves than the ones we often find ourselves hearing. Download them here!

Today, I am giving you a resource that helps calm anxious minds and helps to ground our thoughts in perfect Peace. It will help you learn to replace better Words for the discouraging words and false beliefs that may be running through your head. My hope is this tool will help increase your faith and hope instead of fear and dread. This practice of speaking life-giving, truthful and truth-filled Words has truly helped to transform my thinking and deliver peace of mind to my inner being.

Know this truth: It is truly possible to live in perfect Peace while acknowledging there is chaos all around us. That is the GOOD NEWS I want to share with you today. We can experience rest and be at peace even while living in a world that is not.

Have you ever heard that we become what we think about, or that we gravitate towards the things that have our attention, time, money or energy? I believe this to be a truthful statement. The Bible affirms this as we read King Solomon’s words in Proverbs 23 to say, “as a man thinks in his heart, so is he.”

In Jesus’ teachings found in Matthew 12:33-37, He points out that who we are in the depths of our hearts becomes known when we open our mouths. “…The mouth speaks what the heart is full of…” So what we think about, desire and who we become, spills out in our words, our thoughts and actions. And when we choose to dwell upon wrong things, bad thoughts, or untruths, we are in danger of believing and becoming something that is contrary to the Word of God. Speaking, believing and acting on these things wires your brain to react in ways that are detrimental to your mental, physical and spiritual health.

False beliefs or damaging behaviors can cause a heart to produce anxiety, fear, un-forgiveness (bitterness), offense, depression, sleeplessness, hate, anger, revenge, or unnecessary grief, making the heart (and the mind) grow sick. Getting to the root cause of these false beliefs can help root out the faulty thoughts and replace them with the truth. A better Word to think, believe and act upon, can heal the heart and transform the mind. Remember: What we think about, we become.

When I was at my darkest moments in my mind and in my physical body, my heart still believed the Truth of God’s Word; and by believing, declaring and speaking it, the symptoms of fear & anxiety left my body. The Truth in my heart caused my mind to agree with it; and with my belief and declaration of the truth, my mind was at peace. This Peace allowed me to agree to work with someone that helped me to do the inner-healing work with the help of the Holy Spirit’s Presence, that finished the process. Jesus brought people to walk with me to help me to forgive others, discover roots of false beliefs and to replace them with truth & the Truth of God’s Word. He healed me.

I truly have walked where many of you perhaps have, and wondered if you would ever be freed from these things. That is why I love encouraging others and sharing practical resources, healthy practices and biblical truths that helped in my healing process.

Since we know that we become what we think about and believe deep in our hearts, we also know that the thoughts and inclinations of our hearts shape the reality of who we are. My question to all of us is what are we thinking about? Who are we becoming? What shape are we in as a body of Christ? It may be hard to ponder the reality, but there is purpose in taking time to reflect on our answers to these questions, personally, and as a body of Christ, for those who have received Jesus as Savior.

Whom the Son sets free is free indeed. We were made for more and there is hope for me and for you. So, do you want peace of mind? Think about that for a moment!
