Have you heard the word yet? Here’s what I got… Watch the Video for a practical tool to remember & apply it. And scroll down for Greg’s 2 minute video Inspiration Message
Friend, if you’ve been enjoying our monthly GOOD NEWS for awhile or if you’ve read either of our books or heard our marriage testimony, you surely know by now that Greg & I have come a long way in our relationship with each other and with Christ. We also have personally experienced learning to give our cares (and anxious thoughts) to Him. We are no different from others in that we’ve walked our own journey’s of difficulty as well as have enjoyed seasons of peace, as individuals and as a married couple. Life here on earth is sometimes full of joy and sometimes marked with mourning. But, we are not alone. And neither are you! We have learned to live, as Paul said, with little or much but more importantly we have learned to lean on each other and on the voice of the Holy Spirit who leads and guides us through the Word & through His Voice. He speaks – we hear – we follow His leading! Romans 8:14 reminds us, “For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.“
Perhaps you, like many others, seek the Lord each new year for a WORD from Him as a focus word. If you are accustomed to listening for the Holy Spirit to speak to you, this may come naturally to you. If not, I would like to encourage you to take some time to intentionally spend time quietly with Jesus and ask Him to speak to your heart. You may read a verse in the Bible that really resonates and you know in your “knower” that it is for you to pay attention to. When this happens to me, I will usually write it out in my prayer journal that I keep with my Bible. I’ll ponder it and pray and ask the Lord what He has to say to me regarding the scripture. I may write out some thoughts as I think them and I start paying attention. Often, I will begin to see or hear clues that He is leading me to because God knows sometimes it takes a minute to get my attention. Then, suddenly, I realize I am “seeing, hearing, thinking” something over and over again. And I get it.
Anyway…mid December, as I was reading through 1 Peter – the 3 letters of John, my mind began to focus on the word CONTINUE as I was writing out verses that jumped off the page. I realized this was something my heart was being drawn to. As I wrote out the insights from God’s word, the Holy Spirit began to remind me of things I was to CONTINUE to do. And as I do, He will keep me in perfect peace and in the center of His will. These are things that please Him, according to the word.
Here are a few of the things He whispered to my heart to continue to do: love one another (deeply), share and be hospitable, and manage & steward well the gifts He has given us. I am to continue to gain strength and energy from God’s grace and mercy and forgiveness…and let these things flow to others.
As children of God who follow Christ’s example, we are to continue to: live free from willful acts of sin, we’re to listen and obey the truth of God’s Word, and love one another, bound by the hope and faith we share. We are to continue to do good and walk in holiness as God continues His work in and through us. With thankful and joyful hearts, we are to continue to encourage and build one another up in the Faith. And finally, we are to CONTINUE to trust in God, through His son, Christ Jesus.
I finally got the message! “Oh, LORD, (I prayed), is my focus word for 2026 continue?” So early this month when I began to read Revelation, I thought, “I wonder if the word continue will be in this prophetic letter from Jesus.” It was!
THE LAST CHAPTER of the Bible caught my eye. Revelation 22:11 and 12, “Let the one…who is good, CONTINUE to do good; and the one who is holy, CONTINUE in holiness. See, I (Jesus) am coming soon…”
There is much I do not know, but this one thing I do know…I will continue to seek Him in the morning, increase my prayer time, dwelling in His Presence, believing in His promises and living out His purposes as the Holy Spirit leads and guides me. I will continue to trust Jesus and ask Him to help me to walk humbly with Him, day by day. And as the Holy Spirit speaks, I will continue to allow Him to lead the way. He is faithful!
As for 2026 – I do not know what lies ahead, BUT I WILL CONTINUE to dream, plan, purpose in my heart, take action & believe the best is yet to come and that He is continuing to work in my life till he returns. THAT PUTS MY MIND AT EASE and fills my heart with peace which is better than anxiety.
CONTINUE – that’s the Word! At least that’s what I got! How about you?

GOOD NEWS from the Word of God:
“…be earnest and disciplined in your prayers. Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins. Cheerfully share your home with those who need a meal or a place to stay…
…Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever!”
