It is a new season and it’s time to focus on letting God do a new work in our hearts. You may be thinking it is the worst time to do this because of the storms of life you are going through and if this is going through your mind, friend, I get it. If you have read my mid-Month emails over the past year, you know I understand. Highs, lows and changes have been the theme of life for many of us. But I have good news for you again this month. It is possible to grieve what has been lost at the same time as looking forward to what lies ahead. When we walk through the valley…we are not alone and we are not meant to stay in the valley, but rather walk through it and out of it…healed & whole.

Watch my video above to hear the crazy story of how cows and buffalo respond to thunderstorms. I know it sounds random, but I hope you can understand how people are not far off from their behavior. Sometimes storms of life pop up out of nowhere and catch us off guard, cause delays, create the need to change course and go a different direction, or they cause a wave of damage or destruction in our path to deal with. Grief, fear, anxiety, trauma and a host of other issues are effects of these storms.

We can’t control or always predict the storms that come our way in life, but we CAN be prepared so when they do come, we can face them and get through them. We do it with the Lord’s help and we do it in community.

After you hear my video message, ponder if you often or sometimes behave like a cow or a buffalo when the storms of life come upon you.

Sixteen years into my marriage (now 36), the effects of stuffed, unprocessed grief from my childhood popped up out of nowhere, leaving me in a state of panic, anxiety and mental turmoil. At the same time, my marriage was struggling. As a Christian, I was confused at what was happening, but help and healing was on the way. Friend, I know that my story and yours may not be the same, but the same God who transformed me and my husband, and healed our marriage and my troubled mind, is the same God who wants to heal your heart. He gives peace in the middle of our storms and calms the waves. If you will let him, he will help you process from the pain of grief to deep inner peace in your soul. Read how the Lord helped me and wants to help you too.

Today, I will leave you with this beautiful verse. It is a reminder that God is the source of all our comfort and as He comforts us, we too should come alongside our family and our brothers and sisters in the faith, and alongside those he aligns you with because you have the ability to overflow comfort, peace, joy and hope for someone else, if you are willing to step out. But first, lets “put our oxygen mask on” so we are prepared and ready to “help those who need assistance traveling with us.”

As always…If you have a specific prayer request you’d like me to pray for you, I’d be honored to come alongside you this way. Just simply send to this email.
