Immanuel! God with us!
From the moment Mary conceived the Christ child, just as foretold by the prophet Isaiah 700 years earlier, Jesus’ Presence was present on the earth. God was within Mary and kept safe in her womb. As his body was developing, His Spirit was already active and on the move. Soon after the Angel’s visit, both Mary, and the child within her, had an immediate journey to take, through the hills to Judea. Have you ever pondered this part of the story?
Several years ago, the Lord gave me insight into their journey. At that time, I was volunteering at a pregnancy center as a client advocate and event coordinator. During my private time in the Word of God, I had been studying the book of Luke, when this revelation of their journey dawned on me. I saw details thru the lens of conception & the knowledge of how many days I knew it takes a fertilized egg to implant in a womb. Hear the story!
I wrote about it in my prayer journal and shortly later had the privilege of sharing it with a group of supporters of the pregnancy center. I was reminded of it a few days ago and felt inspired to share the video with you here as we celebrate the Good News of the birth and life of Jesus, this Christmas!
Our precious Savior came to us as a baby but He was very active and present with man (God with us) BEFORE His birth. Watch and listen to the video story and enjoy the song I wrote/sang after I told of the journey of Jesus, to visit his cousin to give him a Gift, while both babies waited for their moments of taking a first breath. During the waiting, both John & Jesus’ moms worshipped God.
Mary waited for Jesus to move in her womb. She pondered the Angel Gabriel’s words and agreed with The Word of God, while she waited on the birth of her child. The people had waited for the prophecy of the Messiah to be fulfilled and though He has come as Immanuel, some are still waiting on His arrival, unaware God is with us even now, thanks to Jesus who gave us His Spirit to live within us, and with us, just as promised to us ALL. God with us.
Maybe you are waiting for Jesus to move in your situation/circumstances. Perhaps you have prayed for awhile and wondered when God would fulfill a promise or a desire in your heart you believed was from Him. Imagine what John’s parents thought, as they were indeed “along in years.” Yet, Elizabeth believed and waited the fulfillment of her promise and as a result, was able to be there for Mary as both women waited together! God’s ways and timing are not like ours. Stand firm in your faith as you wait for Him to move in your life.
Now, we are waiting on Christ’s return to the earth. He is our newborn King who came as a baby – but He will return as our Victorious King! And as the prophet Isaiah foretold long before the birth of Jesus…His name will be called Immanuel which means God with us! He loves us so much that: God sent His one and only Son to the earth so that all who would receive His gift and believe in His Son would not perish but live with Him forever. This my friend, is not only GOOD NEWS…but it is the GREATEST NEWS this Season!

Let’s wait for our King Jesus’ return and as we wait, this December, let’s celebrate together the birth of our newborn King, and lets worship our Mighty God who loves us so much He gave us the very best Christmas gift ever, Immanuel…God with us!
