Hello!
Don’t you just love the sounds, sights and smells of Spring? The gardens surrounding our home have been a safe haven for birds to expand their families and we have had the privilege of watching the two baby doves hatch, grow, depend upon their parents and just this week, leave the nest. Our eyes have been upon them and now we trust the doves will be safe as they get strong in preparation to take flight.
I love how the Lord uses His creation to speak insights, revelations and messages to our hearts that collaborate with His written Word, and in the process, He strengthens us.
Because the dove family shared our back patio for about 6 weeks from the building of the nest, till their departure, we’ve witnessed and researched and have learned how the parents work together sitting on the eggs, then tending to their young, in shifts. They’ve covered their offspring with their feathers and have provided food, nourishment, safety and strength for their young chicks.They’ve fought off birds of prey and have gone to battle to defend their babies, because they love and are dedicated to them.
It’s impossible for me to behold this process without reflecting on how the Lord watches over those whose heart’s are turned to Him. Those who put their trust in the Lord and are fully committed to Him will rest and not fear. Their hearts will be strengthened by the Holy Spirit who dwells within. Their minds will be fed with the peace of God which guards them in Christ Jesus beyond understanding.
The Lord provides the comfort, support, and guidance we need to make decisions, to forgive, to discern and to follow the paths, dreams and desires He placed in us. One of the ways He provides comfort and strength to our hearts is through His people.
This past weekend, our home has been an Oasis of rest & peace for a pastor couple from Ghana. Their daughter is a spiritual daughter and friend of ours. NO ONE KNEW our home, hospitality, love and place of rest would be needed at this exact time… EXCEPT THE LORD!
Pastors Mark & Tina have planned for seven months to stay with us and celebrate Liz’s law school graduation. We met for the first time four days ago. Three days prior, just after they had traveled to the states, their 3-story beautiful church in Ghana, collapsed un-expectedly & suddenly things have changed.
The miracle was that no-one was killed and only one was injured. Pastors Mark and Tina would have been in the building had they been in the country. BUT GOD! The Lord had arranged for theirs and others’ safety and had determined their steps to provide a safe haven place to comfort and strengthen these dear ones whose hearts are fully committed to Him! We were honored to watch as Jesus has covered His feathers over them and settled peace and joy upon their hearts.
Reports from home have not been of anxiety, fear, worry, depression or hopelessness. In fact, the opposite has taken place. Those who have little in material things have realized that what was lost is not where their security or strength comes from. We saw photos and videos from Sunday’s service. The joy of the Lord was pouring out of the people as they met at a temporary place. They celebrated, gathered, worshipped the Lord and received their strength in Him, the ONE their hearts are fully committed to. The Word In Action church known to a small community is now suddenly known all over the country, Why? Because of the miracle of LIFE in the middle of what could have been a national tragedy. The name of the Lord is praised and He will increase His Presence in Ghana as a result.
The Lord will use His committed people to supply needs, comfort, refreshment & hope! And then…He smiles.
Those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed and that has been the case for us.
Release Hope! Receive Hope! Release love and God who IS Love will refresh your soul.
“The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.” 2 Chronicles 16:9
HOW do you prepare ahead for unexpected times of grief, trauma, fear, anxiety and hopelessness? You put your confident hope and trust in the Lord before you find yourself in a situation the enemy means to take you out with. That’s HOW I was able to heal and recover at a vulnerable time in my life. The Word of God and power of the Holy Spirit abiding within me, gave me strength because when the eyes of the Lord searched and found my heart fully committed to Him…He came to my rescue. My soul was at rest, the peace of Jesus calmed my nerves, and God’s children showed up. That’s HOW! I tell the full story in my book, Good Grief I’m Healed, if you’d like to get more practical tools.
