This is the month we in America are intentional about taking time to be thankful. We celebrate our early beginnings as a country with the Thanksgiving Holiday. It’s a great tradition that brings families together around the table as we eat, play games & enjoy being together. Perhaps you have other traditions around this time of year that cause you to pause to be thankful. Gratitude is an attitude and it’s always a GOOD thing.
Perhaps your family dynamics have changed this past year as mine has. We’ve had deaths, a marriage, a new baby on the way, family moves, and other personal changes in our lives. As we continue to live, change is inevitable and though some bring grief, there is so much good that accompanies our days. However, life changes present new traditions as well as new opportunities to allow God to heal your hurts, increase your heart to love and to give you new things to be thankful and grateful for, regardless of the changes you’ve experienced. A grateful heart is a thankful heart & that’s always a GOOD thing.
It’s important to know that holidays become triggers that cause emotions of grief, sadness or anxiety, just like they cause emotions of joy, hope, peace and happiness to come to the surface. Being prepared ahead of time is important, by reading the Word of God and by taking the Apostle Paul’s advice. He said to fill our minds with whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent or praise worthy. (Philippians 4:8) When we fill up with these thoughts, with the GOOD NEWS found in the Word of God, and when we are filled with the presence of the Holy Spirit in prayer and through worship, we are poised to spill out HIM when we are squeezed, triggered or tempted to not be grateful. Fill up GOOD to spill out GOOD!
We have so much to be thankful for! By turning our heart’s attention to Jesus, even when we feel sad, lonely, or grieving, God promises to comfort, to guide and to give us opportunity to respond with the love of the Father to those we are around the table with or in the presence of – everywhere we go! It’s Christ in us that allows us to see the good, feel the love and respond likewise. And that my friend is GOOD NEWS!
I am grateful and thankful for God, my family, my community and for my country. I am thankful for peace of mind, hope for the future and for you! I am thankful my husband Greg made a choice to turn his heart back to God and trust Jesus to help him make changes that healed our marriage and restored our family. I’m grateful Greg chose to boldly share with others by writing his story that surely will offer hope and influence many to know they too can make changes that bring about GOOD in their lives.

Men and women alike will benefit from reading this book. He also shares practical advice and reflection questions at the end of each chapter to help guide you! Greg gives glory to God as he tells how even in the middle of sin and rebellion, God sees us by who He created us to be, and calls us by the name he knows we can live up to be. Yep, there’s another story to that, but you’ll need to read the book to hear it. It’s not my story to tell. Read the reviews & book details, see a sample or grab your copies today.
